The Armor of God

Hello friends,

2023 is shaping up to be quite the year. The news continues to spotlight devastation and heartbreak. Ladies and gentlemen, now, more than ever, we must pray. We must pray without ceasing. Heinous acts surround us. Pray for your loved ones. Pray for your acquaintances. Pray for those that you kind of cannot stand --- but still love and respect them as Jesus has called us to do, obviously. In all seriousness, we must pray. We are called to pray about everything. We are to pray for our country. We are to pray for our children. We are to pray for this world. We are to pray for ourselves; that God may cover us, guide us and instruct us.

People, the enemy is at work. He has come to steal. To kill. And to destroy. The enemy is hard at work, stealing our hope and our joy, killing our dreams and destroying our families and our lives. It bears repeating. We must pray.

We must be courageous. We do not have to worry. We are called to not worry. Each and every day, I implore you to put on the armor of God. Ephesians 6:18 states that we have the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, shoes that come with the peace of the Good News, the shield of faith and the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God. God’s Word clearly states that our battle is not with man but with the enemy and the rulers of the darkness. I love verse 13 though, “Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.” Loved ones, there will be a battle. You may be in a battle right now. Know that because of Christ Jesus we are victorious. Know that God is with us through our storms and that we have the promise of God that we will stand firm once the battle is over. Amen!

I encourage you to spend time with the Lord. Spend time in prayer. Exercise discernment. These are evil times. With the armor of God, we can be confident as we go through our days.

With love,

Chelsea
